Ray Edmonds D lead the pack on the opening day of the season getting a 5-1 home win against Peter Hogarth & Sons, in the A League of the Grimsby Intermediate Snooker League, Blake Munton and Liam Oswin opening the scoring with a 2-0 win, Macca Dutton and Rob Hunter made it three Ian Hogarth (29) and Steve Ceclich took the next for the visitors, but with Steve Ellis and Michael Dent took the  last two giving them the victory.

A local derby game at Clee Cons saw the “visitors” the “A” team’s Jimmy Yates and Al Goodhand take the opening two frames, Nige Emmerson (25, 43) and Steve Fisher got the next for the “home” side Locate Supplies Cons, sharing with Ryan Knox and Dean Richardson, Mark Franks and Ian Crosby took the next for Locate, but with Tom Keeley and Scott Gibbins, with an 88 break sharing gave the “A” team a 4-2 win.

Another derby match, this time at the Westlands Club saw Westlands Heating go 2-0 ahead against there hosts The Gas Man thanks to Paul Simpson and Chris Yull, but man of the match Keith Atmore with Paul Metcalf taking the next two followed by Kev North (25) and Anthony Jagger (46, 46) winning the last two, the “home” side got a 4-2 win.

With a middle board 2-0 win for Rick Gilliatt (27, 22, 26) and Chris Dunham helped Ray Edmonds B to a 4-2 win at Clee Home Guard, after Alan Edmonds (22) and Tony Miller had shared 1-1 with Rick Pacey and Keith Southwell and before Matty Lawton and Daz Evans 1-1 draw with Nick Mason and Mark Stevens.

Cromwell A went into a 3-0 lead at GY Cars thanks to Danny Hargrave (22) and Dave Bird taking the first two, Kris Robinson and Brad Moforth made it three, but the home side drove back Alan Robertson and Bob Reeves taking the fourth, then Mick Ponsonby and Andy Aisthorpe with the last two gave us a 3-3 draw.

 

Clee Cons C of the B League opened the scoring with a 2-0 win at home to Hainton Hornets, thanks to Rob Willerton and Ian Arding, but the visitors buzzed back taking the rest Stuart Tuplin partnered by Steve Miles, then Brian Davies and Pete Chisnall, both pairs winning 2-0 gave them a 4-2 win.

West End B tore into a four frame lead when they played host to Carr Lane A, Tony and Danial Smith then Shane Smith and Malcolm Naulls, winning 2-0 each, Mick Bird and Stuart Sadler (28) took the last two for the visitors saving them a whitewash, the match ending as a 4-2 home win.

West End D went into a three nil lead at Carr Lane B, thanks to Andrew Warner and Daz Roach taking the first two, Mat Wood and Mark Piercey took the next sharing with Karl Reynolds and Lee McFarlane, Jon and Glen Leggett got the last two for the home side making it a 3-3 draw.
